TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Albany, Georgia, 31701 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Oncology - Medical Surgical Job Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required to submit Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty Job Description: - Work on the oncology medical-surgical unit, primarily on the 7th floor and occasionally outpatient. - Provide care for 29-bed unit specializing in acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology, medical overflow, oncology, and end-of-life care. - Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5, occasionally 1:6. - Use of MEDITECH - 6.1 for electronic medical records. - Collaborate with a charge nurse who is out of the staffing grid, with charge support generally available. - Work alongside three nurse aides per day. - Central monitor telecommunication is available, but strip reading is not required. - Required to rotate weekend duty every other weekend. - Rotate holidays with staff. - Wear Caribbean Blue scrubs. - Rare floating to medical acute unit. - Participate in a floor-specific orientation for 3 days. - Handle outpatient area patients if treatments run late and outpatient area closes. - Attend orientation with 16 hours of dedicated learning to acclimate to the unit.
