Location: Remote Southwire Job DescriptionLocation: Remote in Georgia In support of Operational Perfection at Southwire, the International Transportation Manager is accountable for maintaining, and optimizing efficient solutions supporting Southwire product, raw materials and finished products in and out of the US, while maintaining exceptional service levels and keeping costs at a minimum.Key Responsibilities --- Define and lead strategic initiatives related to international transportation activity with key suppliers to include ocean carriers, NVOCC's, air freight providers, drayage carriers. --- Collaborate with ocean carriers, NVOCC and drayage companies to secure the most optimum freight rates to support Southwire Transportation objectives. --- Partner closely with all internal stakeholders, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales and Shipping to understand their needs and requirements pertaining to international transportation. --- Maintain and grow effective relationships with import/export suppliers. --- Develop and maintain carrier KPIs and scorecards with international suppliers to be used in monthly, quarterly, and annual performance discussions. --- Develop standard methodologies to drive operational consistency, standardization, and value to the business --- Responsible for executing an annual import/export RFQ. --- Serve as a go-to partner and strategic thought leader for all shipping projects related to import/export transportation. --- Identifies transportation process improvement opportunities through strategic thinking, critical thinking and analysis. --- Be a trusted advisor by developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders to support business needs. --- Identify and execute strategic initiatives to ensure ability to meet future growthEducation, Experience, and Skills --- Bachelor degree in Logistics or Supply Chain related field required --- 5-7 years of experience in an international transportation/shipping role. --- 5+ years of management experience in a transportation role. --- Understanding and working knowledge of import and export regulations for the U.S. and foreign countries. Including EAR, CCL, ICC Incoterms, ISF, HTSUS and Schedule B product classification. --- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. --- Strong analytical and financial leadership skills. --- Consistent track record of surpassing objectives and delivering exceptional results. --- Must be willing to travel up to 25%. --- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
